Our private lessons are offered in the following duration:
- 30 minute lesson - For children new to flute. We find this lesson length the most appropriate for younger ages and their focus.
- 45 minute lesson - For progressing children aged 11+. This lesson length accommodates for the longer pieces encountered at intermediate level, and allows enough time for practical exam preparation (e.g. AMEB exams).
- 60 minute lesson - For adult learners and advanced students. An hour lesson allows for a comprehensive exploration of techniques, theory, and performance.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Do I require my own flute?
Yes, students need to bring their own flute to class. We can help you choose an instrument and give advice on buying/renting new or second-hand instruments.
Flute lessons for kids?
We suggest children flute lessons begin at age 8 or 9. Learning flute outside of school is a great way to get ahead in the school's band and music program. Our current 8 & 9 year old flute players have formed a flute quartet this year and play together for fun each month.
Flute lessons for adults?
Yes, we teach adult learners of all ages and abilities! We'll cover all the fundamentals of flute with you and will work together to play your favourite pieces.
Do you provide group flute lessons?
We are happy to cater for a group lesson if you have a friend or sibling of the same age/standard. We provide private tuition mostly, and only formally organise group lessons for our 2-4.5yo age group.
